What is God's World Videos & Essays All About?

 ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

If you’ve found your way here, you’re probably someone who reads carefully, watches thoughtfully, and asks real questions about what Christians actually believe and why. That’s exactly who this site is for. God’s World Videos & Essays is dedicated to the ideas, concerns, and challenges of the Christian world, intramural and extramural. That’s a deliberately old-fashioned pair of words, and worth explaining plainly: intramural means the conversations Christians have with each other, inside the walls, the doctrinal debates, the disagreements over eschatology, the ordinary work of trying to get things right. Extramural means the conversations Christians have with everyone else, the world beyond the walls, including the hardest and most honest exchanges with other belief systems.

Both matter here. This site doesn’t shy away from either one.

You’ll find essays and videos organized around five areas that keep coming up, again and again, in real conversations with real people:

Testimonies, because faith is lived before it’s argued.

The Trinity, because getting the doctrine of God right is not a peripheral matter.

Muslim-Christian debates, approached with evidence and without hostility, because a hard conversation conducted respectfully is worth more than a comfortable one avoided entirely.

Open Theism, because how we understand God’s relationship to time and choice shapes nearly everything else.

Atavist Eschatology, because how the story ends, and when, turns out to matter for how we live now.

Most of what’s here started as a video first. My YouTube channel, What the New Testament Really Says, is where a lot of this material gets worked out loud, in real time, before it ever becomes an essay. If you’d rather watch than read, or read after you’ve watched, either path works. Several of the longer PDF studies you’ll find linked here have a companion video walking through the same material, so you can take in the argument however it lands best for you.

None of this is meant to stay abstract. If something here raises a question for you, agrees with something you already believed, or genuinely challenges it, you’re welcome to bring that question somewhere it can actually be discussed face to face. Atavist Bible Church holds regular Sunday services by Zoom, along with scheduled and unscheduled Bible studies, and the tone there is exactly what I’d want it to be anywhere serious ideas are on the table: low-heat, high-respect. Come as you are, ask what you’re really wondering, and expect to be heard.

Thank you for being here. I hope what you find is worth your time, and worth arguing with.
